It’s crazy how much time professional artists spend on not making art. The ones I’ve talked to spend maybe 30% of their time painting, and that’s so far away from the dream we all imagined. It’s strange how it keeps feeling like making art is not as urgent as sending emails. And then before you know it, you haven’t painted in 2 weeks.
I could not agree with you more being fan of how our brains work with creativity and what this has done for my well being this last 2 years! This is a fantastic piece, as are all the books you mention. I love Susan's and Ivy's book, which I bought when it first came out and it changed my 'guilty feeling mind' by letting me know that any and all art is really good for me! I like the sound of the other two books and will certainly look them up too. Thank you.
Saving this for all the juicy resources, thank you. I have read ‘Your Brain on Art’ but not the others.

I feel this so much. It takes so much effort reminding ourselves that THIS is the work. Emails can wait ❤️
